Scouts – Viper Troop

Jump in and get muddy. Give back and get set. Our Scouts ignore the butterflies and go for it, and soon so will you.

Our Scouts are a go-getting group of young people aged 10 ½ to 14 who:

  • Engage in outdoor activities like camping, hiking, orienteering, and nature exploration promoting teamwork, self-reliance, and appreciation for the environment.
  • Learn a wide range of practical skills, including knot tying, first aid, cooking, and survival techniques fostering independence and the ability to handle various situations.
  • Participate in community service projects to give back to our communities and to value the importance of helping others.
  • Develop leadership skills and mentor younger members.
  • Earn badges by demonstrating learning or experience in specific skills and knowledge areas.
  • Develop strong moral and ethical values, encouraging each other to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, kind, cheerful, thrifty, brave and clean.
  • Work together as part of a troop to develop teamwork with others.
  • Understand their role as responsible citizens and are aware of global issues and cultures.
  • Face challenges and experiences in scouting, using these to grow in confidence and develop a sense of responsibility for their actions and decisions.
  • Make friends, create lasting memories, and have fun in a safe and supportive setting.
